A skins calculator starts with total cost

Your buy price is not the only number that matters. Include marketplace fees, cash-out costs, and any extra spread you expect to lose while selling.

A trade that looks profitable before fees can become flat or negative after the real exit costs are included.

Profit and ROI answer different questions

Profit tells you the dollar return. ROI tells you the percentage return on capital. A good CS2 calculator should show both.

Small cheap items can have high ROI with tiny dollar profit. Expensive liquid items can have lower ROI but better actual return.

Break-even keeps you honest

The break-even price is the resale price needed to avoid losing money after fees. If the realistic market price is close to break-even, the deal has little room for error.

A safer deal has enough spread that normal undercuts, fees, and timing risk do not erase the profit.

Use calculators with market context

The math is only as good as the resale price you enter. Use live comps, liquidity, float, seed, sticker value, and recent demand before trusting a result.

Code Red calculators and live deal cards are built to keep those numbers together during review.
